Default Is there any way to reduce the effects of a sandblasted windshield?

My car has 81,xxx miles on it... and when driving into the sun I can barely see. Corvettes are prone to this over time because of the size/angle of the glass. I've heard things like chrome polish will fill in little nicks and smooth the glass out. I've tried some glass polish stuff to no avail. Anyone know anythign that works short of a new windshield?

I would have thought you would have replaced that when you cut up the roof

I thought about it becuase I had all the moldings etc off, but the glass is expensive and the project cost was allready getting a bit over budget.

I did that w/ the glass polish, but maybe a coat of wax will work to fill them in.
