Default Supercharger vs. Turbo

I have a BMW 2001 330Ci and I have been told that a turbo is better, being that it is a straight 6, than a supercharger.

I am aware of the prices, please believe, this probably wont happen immediately, I have some other modifications in mind first.

What does everyone else think?

I hope you have a lot of money if you are doing either.

You're right, turbo's are better than turbo's. I thought the Bimmers were straight 6's?

Superchargers take power to make power
turbos do not

turbos have lag because they are powered by exhaust
superchargers do not

superchargers are cleaner and more reliable because pully power, not exhaust power which can vary.

turbos you can just turn up boost, provided it is tuned and the fuel is correct, superchargers need new pullys and belts.

I would go with a turbo setup myself, but that's only because I have more experience with that and it seems easier.

just depends what your goals are and where in the rpm band you want the power. If your looking for more torque and low end power, go blower, if you want it to make more power on the top end, go with the turbo.

While roots blowers make more low-end torque and power, centrifugal superchargers don't. They are for more high-rpm power gains.

I would say it depends on how much money you want to spend as well.
