Supercharger installed
So after months of waiting I finally got around to installing my supercharger. Once I get it running right and upgrade a few parts maybe I'll be able to take it to the track without breaking much.
It took me pretty much all day yesterday, and was my first time doing anything extensive to my car. Before this, the biggest project I ever did was put on an intake or exhaust, so I finally got the money to do something fun and satisfying. Anyway I'll share some of my excitement with a few pics. http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c1...s/DSC01082.jpg http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c1...s/DSC01083.jpg http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c1...s/DSC01085.jpg http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c1...s/DSC01084.jpg http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c1...s/DSC01086.jpg Here's a pic of BEFORE for comparison... http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c1...002reduced.jpg Don't mind the silicone oozing out and the lame red hose. I need to find some black hoses...and I'm going to get my valve cover powdercoated to match my intake most likely. I'm using the e-manage ultimate and wiring that thing up was much easier than expected. The car fired up right away and sounds phenominal compared to stock, and runs very smoothly. Unfortunately, the o-rings that came with my 440cc injectors are not sealing right with the fuel rail and leak a pretty good amount of fuel. Tomorrow I am picking up the new o-rings and seals and seeing if I can snug them up a little bit and get to take her out on the road a bit. Perhaps I'll update later when I have time and money for some fine tuning and a couple dyno pulls. Won't make crazy power for sure...but...enough to keep me awake. Enjoy. |

Re: Supercharger installed
What size blower is that.....
N/M must be a 62, I used to have one of those for my car, you are going to love it. Very torquey...lol WHat type of numbers you looking to lay down? |
Re: Supercharger installed
tip for the o rings on the injectors...get some SIL-GLIDE and put a small amount on the rings it smush it into o-rings so it holds them center on the injector.

Re: Supercharger installed
I went to toyota and got brand new seals for the injector ports. It turns out that those were the problem...they got heated and compressed over time. Put the new ones in and those injectors sealed right up. Thing runs and pulls great. low end torque is better...but still far from great with my teeny engine. from 4000 up to 8500 though it pulls great. Now I just have to burp the air out of my coolant so I can stop overheating... which is a royal pain in the ass on a celica.
My goal is to reach 250whp after I replace my sh*tty clutch, flywheel, and an hour or two of tuning. As it is conservatively tuned from greddy it puts out about 225whp. I know it's not crazy...but it's OK. |
