Lightbulb so the new beetle turbos are 1.8T's right?
Why havn't people modded those? I'm guessing it's much lighter then a GTI, and would make for a fantastic homosexual sleeper car.

What makes you think that they are much lighter? They are fairly equal in size.

They are not much lighter (opposite in fact) and the 1.8t is not nearly as common in the bugs as it is in the GTI/Jetta. When I went car searching originally (when I bought my gti) I was going to buy an orange Turbo S, but it got sold from under me. They can be just as potent, but for some reason people tend not to mess with them.

The beetle also have a different version of the 1.8T. Less parts out there for it. Plus it only has the k03 instead of the ko3S, so its only 150hp stock instead of 180 no matter the year.

Not entirely true. The Turbo S comes with 180hp. And you can get nearly every part for a beetle 1.8t that you can for other 1.8t cars. However, Some of the engine codes are harder to find chips for and some chips don't make as much horsepower.
