Thumbs up Short throw shifters

I would have never thought that a short throw shifter could be such a well needed improvement. I ended up buying the Steeda Tri-ax and to all the fellow Mustang owners, I can tell you, if you don't have one you need to get one! The shifts are exact, notchy, and just like snap into gear. This new shifter has a 50% shorter throw than the factory shifter and is built strong enough that a elephant could shift this thing safely. I highly recommend a short throw in any car. I really am blown away at what a fun and needed improvement I just spend $180 bucks on! Go for it

My friend has that short shifter that locks you out of any gear but 3rd when you're in second.. It's amazing how short the shifts are. Might be the Triax.. I dunno, he's got an M46.

i thought my steeda shifter sucked....i was always missed 3rd. so when i get my tremec, to save a few bucks i get a UPR shifter and i love it...the only time i missed 3rd was when my clutch was going bye-bye

I dont like them IMO, I found they were useless and I dont feel that I need to get the car into gear any quicker than I already can. Another thing I find is that they tend to brake when shifting hard. But again, this is my view about imports, I dont know much about mustang shifters.
