Default shipping freight help

hey guys i need some tips (and yes i have done some research) but basically i am trying to get an engine shipped from medford mass. to fredericksburg va, freight rates are outrageous, anyone know where i can find descent rates or a cheap way of having it shipped, if i drive to pick it up in my truck, its 1000 miles round trip @ about 18mpgs hwy and ga @ about $4 a gallon im lookin at about $222 give or take + time, if you all have any tips of getting done for about the same or less pleas let me know. Thanks in advance

That is from yellow freight and thats about right for what you shipping ....

wow thanks thats some detailed info Fast E, I definately appreicate all the work you did, but to some everything all up i'm not going to be able to ship this thing under $500, maybe my best bet might be driving

offer to pay the guy with the motor a few hundred bucks to meet you half way...some people will if they are hurting for money....then you just back the two trucks together and slide it in to your truck and come back home...

that sounds like a good idea, but it would only cost a little more than $200 driving, its just a long ass trip
