Second car for mod or modding current car?
first of all hope this is the right forum.
okay, so i'm trying to decide whether to buy a second car with the sole intent of modding and having fun and keeping my car i have now as a daily driver. i drive a 2004 stratus sxt coupe now btw. or just work on my car now?
the main advice i've been given is that it's better to get a second car because that way i'll always have a dependable car and i can just "go nuts" with it.
but my thought is that if i get a second the other might just sit (don't think that's a bad thing). but the thing is that i've done research on the engine and pretty much have had a plan on what to do with my stratus tuning wise.
opinions and help greatly appreciated.

one of the stupidest threads of the year. Asking if you should build your stratus. My friend tryed that. In the end of the day it was still slow as balls.

It comes down to what you want to do. If you want to put some wheels and an exhaust on your Stratus, go for it. Keep the stock parts in a closet in case you ever need to sell the car.
If your goal is to have a fast car and/or one that handles well and you plan on doing a lot of suspension or engine work I would suggest buying something that is a better platform (and cheap) to begin with.

if i get a second car it might just sit (as i've stated earlier). but if i do this car the way i want i'll have something that i like and know and that i can show off and shout proudly "I DRIVE A DODGE STRATUS, YOU WILL RESPECT ME!"

Deargod!!!, get a second car. Even if it was not a Stratus, its no fun having your project car, and your daily driver be one and the same.
