Re: seat harnesses???
I'm not even talking about the angle of the belts, I'm more talking about the submarining affect that all 4 point harnesses have. Schroth harnesses are designed to limit/eliminate sumbarining on 4 point harnesses and make them behave more like 5 pointers.

Schroth Profi II ASM FE. Orange push button on the cam lock and everything. There are a few other differences between the ASM FE and the regular ASM, so get the FE if you can.
There are a lot more choices if you want to go for more than a 4 point, but the Schroth is really the perfect 4 point for a street car and it will even work with stock seats.

Re: seat harnesses???
Those Schroth belts seem to be the answer to a question a lot of people PM me about. I've had many PM's about the legality of harnesses in a street car. While there is nothing to specifically make them illegal, the code leaves a lot up to interpretation. The code and the safety inspection manual require belts to meet certain standards. Those standards are set my NHTSA ( National Highway Traffic..). Racing harnesses don't specifically meet those standards. Racing specific harnesses meet SFI ratings. There is no table ( that I'm aware of) that cross references those two standards.
The thing that specifically jumps out at me is the inertia reel, like these here. http://www.schrothracing.com/store/T...on/black-magic
I may be wrong, but I've yet to see another company incorporate that into a harness. While it would be less than perfect for an all out racing application, it would work well on the street. They even provide the documents to show the NHTSA standards
