Default Salvage history.

In you guys/girls opinion. How much does a salvage title history bring down the value of a car...

By bring down i mean say the average going price for this car completely stock / average conditon is $10,500... what should you expect to pay.

reason being is, i can get a very nice 93 rx7 with gt35r and other mods etc etc for a reasonably good price. but im afraid that if i try to sell it, it may be a PITA to get rid of.

what do you guys think.

Why was it salvaged? And any before pics taken?

I'd say you'll be doing good to get 5-6 for it.

It really just depends on the situation. I know a guy who got a steal on a 00 civic si w/ a salvage title due to theft.

As with any salvage title, the market for potential buyers is EXTREMLY limited. It most likely would be a PITA to sell unless it was priced at a steal. But if you're buying at a steal, it might work out for you.

Thats really for you to decide. You can add as many mods as you want, but the title will always remain branded. but w/e you do, DRIVE IT. and drive it hard. If the owner doesnt trust you with it, ask him to take you on the interstate to do a few high speed pulls. I had a civic once with frame damage that was supposedly repaired, and once i got up to 100 in twas scary as shit. Make sure all the body panels line up perfectly if it was a salvage wreck, and def. have a mechanic go over it entirely before you buy. If it was flood damage, check for rust or corrosion.

Also is the title braded salvage repaired, or salvage rebuilt?
rebuilt means more than 75% of pre damaged value
repaired means less than 75%.
(id def stay away from rebuilt if it was from a collision.)

He might have done title cleansing. Where you can move it through a couple states to get the title from salvage, to rebuilt, to clear. But carfax has the original info because it's run through the vin.
