Default S2000 question

well, im picking out options for my next car. as i mentioned before, i was looking into an FD. but the issue is, its going to be much more to maintain, cost of parts, and im not sure what im getting with the chasis since its so old.

soooo the s2000 came to mind. not for the bandwagon, but for its handling. (im looking for a car to hit the "twisties" ) but also the power is going to be an issue. i'm trying to get high constant power, so im not looking for turbo. NA, i know the motors are almost at the max, and there isnt much support outside of the basic boltons (i/h/e, etc etc).

basically my question is, what kind of power can i expect out of a supercharger, and whats the max potential of a supercharged s2000? i'd like to hit around the 350-400hp range. is this unrealistic?

That goal isn't Unrealistic IMO some bolt on's good tune with some engine mangement and a good jackson racing super charger seems realistic to me at least ....didn't Dave22 have a stupidcharged s2000?

I did.

You can hit 350-400whp with the right setup. It'll take some work but it can be done and many have done it already. Black Nugget and a couple of others here have been through it.

300whp is WAY easier and probably sufficient for most people's needs. You can pretty much get 300 from a stock Vortech kit and a good tune.

How much money do you have?

I think the most powerful SC'd S2000 is in the 450whp range, but he still has a stock bottom end and he's still using a basically stock Vortech kit with a much smaller pulley.

Once you get into upgrading the blower and upgrading the bottom-end you can likely get much much more than that. But that's uncharted territory right now.

450rwhp om stock bottom end?! doesnt the s200 have a s.compression ratio of like 11.5:1. Must of had some good tuning(or a thick ass headgasket )

if you want a car for the twisties you should keep the evo. it's faster and easier to drive (may not be as fun though). it's easy to get the car to slide with stock power. with a supercharger you are just asking for trouble if you plan on taking the car through some twisties. in stock form the car has great balance. it may not have the fastest straight line acceleration, but in the corners is where it really performs.

The centrifugal kits available for the S2000 don't really hurt the balance at all.

An SC'd S2000's power delivery is still more manageable than an Evo's. That's pretty important in the twisties.

He has a Joe Alaniz head and I think the compression is dropped to 10.8 or something like that.
