running a drift event?
anyone ever done this? id like some tips on people who have, and wether or not i need to be doing a tech inspection, or what
https://i367.photobucket.com/albums/...w/driftday.jpg jan. 23rd 2010 at 9 am doors open, 10 am track time, and 5pm close my first time running a event. ill be controlling the whole thing. im taking it small, its a 12 person cap, and with insurance included its costing yayayyaadadda im not drifting the event, just running it. since my car is apart. but i feel like i should give back to the community. old dominion is my pad where i learned. and i want to express that to others by making it affordable. more bigger events to come. but for now just a simple closed event i opened payments today and received 3. through paypal, The fee is Purchase payments received (monthly) Fee per transaction $0.00 USD - $3,000.00 USD 2.9% + $0.30 USD so the total is $72.33 through paypal. or cash in person i have 20 people in line on a list, and i going through one by one till i reach 12. no pay, no play and skip to the next. some media will be there, ill post up what happens ill post it all up as it goes down and hopefully turns out as a success also making it a small meet. its gonna be cold. but what else better is there to do?? theres not many drift events during the winter on the east coast. more the gets reconized, more cheaper i can make events, more fun, simple. small oval track days in between seasons and events to practice. not to mention hopefully some future relationships and respect from others in the area |
Re: running a drift event?
why would you do it during what is informally known as the off season?
this is the time when most people have their cars off the street to make necessary repairs and modifications. just asking. on a side note, why isnt yoshi running this event like he always does? |

Re: running a drift event?
I would think tech requirements maybe set by the insurance you are using. If insurance is part of your track rental then you need to check with the track ASAP. Its all about CYA. If not you may want to look into who is liable if someone gets hurt. Waivers usualy dont mean shit in court.

Re: running a drift event?
who are you getting the insurance through?
i highly recommend that use a tried and true tech method, and that every car must meet those requirements in order to get on track. something like this is a safe bet, and is basically what we use in USDrift. http://www.nasaproracing.com/images/..._hpde_tech.pdf |
