I can vouch for the Ozium. A can costs $5, it's nothing to worry about and it works amazingly.

I REALLY think you should do the vinegar thing. It worked almost instantly for me, and It did not smell like vinegar after I aired it out.

Ozium makes everything smell like Ozium.

I tried the Meguiar's stuff and it was the same.

To this day I can still smell Ozium and Meguiar's in a car that I bought like three years ago. But it isn't as bad as smoke.

Any better recommendations then?

I'll give anything a shot; have the car for a couple of days. If it just masks it with a different smell I'll try something else to get rid of both.

It definitely doesn't mask. The smoke is GONE.

It just, um, replaces I guess.

I've never had another smoked-in car so I've never had to try anything else. But I'm sure enough Vanillaroma could cure pretty much anything.

What does airborne bacteria have to do with smoke? Are you smoking bacteria?

You should clean the upholstery, the smoke permeates the fabric and the seat foam and the a nice deep upholstery cleaning gets rid of a lot of the surface chemicals that make the smell.
