I was caught by radar doing 79 in 55. What are the fees in VA beach? Should I get a lawyer or get car calibated? I need any help I can get. Trying to go without a lawyer. Clean driving record.

haha, j/k. What do you mean by clean record? You dont have a SINGLE ticket for ANYTHING? I ask b/c I know some people will say they have a clean record when they really have a speeding ticket and a bs parking ticket.
However, if you truely do not have a single ticket, you might be "ok."
It would probably be wise to get a lawyer to represent you.
Either way, if you decide to represent yourself or get a lawyer, go to DMV and get a copy of your driving record. Go to court dressed appropriately and talk calmly with respect.
Va Beach Judges are pretty strict, but your chance of getting it dropped to a lower degree offense are pretty high, granted you have a clean record.

Get a lawyer. Always get a lawyer. Probably won't get you out of it, but you have a better chance of getting it reduced. Any time you just decide to "take it like a man," you're going to pay for it for the next 5 years with your insurance.

Otherwise.... you can be one of those people who refuses to pay a few hundred bucks for an attorney because you think it would just be cheaper to pay the ticket.

ESPECIALLY if you're a younger male, you want every opportunity you can get to save money on your insurance. Get an attorney, despite what the other people tell you. Get an attorney, dress nice for court, be polite..
