question about miatas
so im picking up a 91 miata with a blown motor, im planning on trying to pick up a b6 motor for it nothing major just trying to dd it...only thing is i dont know much about miatas, more of a honda guy. so im wondering if anyone can lead me in the right direction to some legit miata forums or some legit websites to pick up a b6 longblock...and no not ebay. thanks

thanks for all the help...ill check out ingrams, yea the motor thats in it now the guy said he had either rod knock or valve tick, and he stopped one day at a light heard a loud "pop" and the knock got worse when he got home he saw the spark plug wire popped up so he pulled it out and the plug came out with it....it still runs its just down one cylinder and it shoots out oil like crazy so not sure whats salvageable but im hoping the cam gears are.

ok well if that is the case...he may have been hearing compression blowing by the plug and the loud POP was the plug finally blowing out and shit...
i would try to rethread the plug into the hole and crank it over by hand to see if you get a full rotation and then crank it over and see if it starts.

oh it starts and runs its spraying oil out but not outta the plug, somewhere else and the plug hole is done id have to tap and helicoil it, figure out where the oil leak is coming from and fix that and then address the knock problem itd just be more beneficial to just start fresh with a newer engine instead of dumping 400 bucks into this one to try to get it running right.
