Default Prevent Car Theft Thread!

After reading all the posts and seeing the news. I think we need to start a thread to give Tips and Tricks on car security-

My contribution-
1. Cover last 8 of vin #

2. Relocate hood Cable!!(Mainly Civic)

3. Kill switch of somesort.

4.Removable Wheel

5. Remember, most alarms are very, very easily bypassed (no power-no alarm)

I can think of more later. I have installed alarms for a long time (more as a hobby) I can tell you very few alarms are not easily bypassed. The keyed, self powered siren (140db i think) is a very good addition to any alarm. Doesn't go off accidently and CANNOT be cutoff with out the key (coke machine type key, on the siren itself). Even with a big fucking hammer!

Just an idea?

No Shit, but if its in your driveway, um, aren't you going to notice a towtruck? Some of us do own houses? (or rent)

*edit* You can not easily tow a lowered civic with-out damage and noise!

IMO- They are "pushing them" to where they won't be noticed as much when they start.

ps. I am from fairfax (land of endangered vehicles) and have had many nice cars- I have only had a garage for 8 months. I have never had anything stolen-
