POLICE TROUBLE
well i was just pulled over by a cop for reckless driving and illigal exhaust. The reason i got RD was because i cherped tires going into 2nd gear. I wasn't even speeding. I never went past 35 mph. as soon as my tires broke traction I put my breaks on. This cop was a D**k!. Is there anyway i could fight this in court? what things could i say to help me win. This is also my 2nd offense for the exhaust so will the price of the ticket go up??
thanks for any info!

Re: POLICE TROUBLE
do you have a witness? If not, take the punishment and get a camcorder for next time.
Things you can do is to look for oil on the road where you chirped your tires. Was it audible? Were you on the car hard in 1st gear up to 35mph? Is the car an auto or manual?
If it's an auto, you might be able to get away with saying you were having transmission problems and was not shifting correctly. You tried forcing the car into the next gear which resulted in the tires chirping. Bring in a receipt showing proof that you purchased a transmission. Bank record of the large purchase would work in your favor as well.
If it's a manual, tell the judge that your shoe slipped off the clutch due to a worn pad on the pedal and have since replaced it. Bring in a worn pedal pad with a receipt showing that you purchased a replacement.

Re: POLICE TROUBLE
Like they say, no way out. In the commi-wealth they consider chirping, loosing control of a vehicle. And the way the traffic laws are written all fall under reckless driving.
