I agree for the same reasons... my wife works for a VW dealership and we'll never own one. The problem isn't that they break a lot, it's that they're such a pain in the ass to work on it costs a ton to fix em when they do break.

I would say Toyota

but if your looking for a family car and dont want a van i would suggest the Highlander because of its many options and more space for the pricing.

New family mobile only two wifey likes. So these are the two we are picking from.

I like the TDI for the Gas mileage but the RAV is a good size and AWD.

Yea, the utility and space are, obviously, much better with the Toyota. I can't imagine it getting terrible gas mileage either.

It aint horrible but it aint great. The TDI blows it out of the water and the wagon setup is spacious.... So I'm very undecided.

You're factoring the cost of diesel per gallon compared to the cost of regular unleaded per gallon also right? Not sure what diesel costs over there, I'm guessing cheaper than it is here since its WAY more widely used.

Diesel MPG is almost always better than gasoline MPG. Gotta go miles per dollar instead of per gallon to get a real apples to apples idea.
