What kind of discounts do you get working at a dealership? What kind of deal do you get on parts?

if you're sales... you could definately work out a deal for yourself on a car, provided your gsm doesn't hate you... and you definately can get discounts on parts... cost at some places... usually, just a little over cost....... but depending how well you make friends... you could get things much cheaper....

I get like 10% over cost on parts and $100 below factory invoice and none of the processing fees and stuff. Not the greatest on employee purchases but I make double than my last dealership and less BS.

Nope. Haley had the same deal on parts but a better car purchasing plan. However it came with half the pay and BS. I didnt chose my new work for the employee purchases though, the income and benefits caught my eye.

When I worked at Acrua Parts in Chantilly...I got 15% over cost...But since I was the top producer...I would give myself 10% over...if you work at a dealership and order parts from another dealer you have to state you work somewhere and they will give you the discount they give your dealership or the discount they give their own employees...I do it when I go to Sterling BMW...I tell them i work at Acura and they give me a killer discount...I still have my health ins card and parking pass...etc..even tho I work at Microsoft now....good luck ....but your best bet is to find a friend who works somewhere to get it for you....or go up to the parts counter and tell them you work somewhere....the car industry takes care of it peoples but sometimes you run into a parts guy who doesnt care and needs to make his money..you can blame him...
