Yes.... I am basically asking how thick your hose is (no homo). Trying to figure out why my setup won't break a 100 ft/lb lug nut free. I'm using 3/8" ID hose and the standard free-be C-man air gun that comes w/ the compressor.

I use 3/8 id hose. I only have problems when the bolts are rusted on or over torqued. I some times have to use a breaker bar first and then air.

I'd be more concerned with the gun. The guns that come with the compressors are never the morst powerful out there. Look into a composite Ingersoll Rand air gun. It'll blow your mind.

Do you guys use qucik-disconnect fittings or pumb directly into the pressure regulator? I'm going to remove my fittings and water seperator and run a short line directly to the tank and try the gun... if it still won't do it then it's the gun.

I have a 80 gal. compressor to a 50ft hose to cool down the air. From there it goes to my regulator/water seperator and then into another 50ft hose reel.

Yeah... I've had my air setup for 5 years and only use it to fill up my tires etc. I'm going to do some garage rearranging soon and after that will dig into my suspension swap on the Corvette so I want to put the air tools to use.

its the gun. also, what cfms does your compressor put out? ANY compressor should have no problem breaking loose 100 ft.lb. get yourself a good impact gun and the diameter of the hose will not matter seeing as how i highly doubt you have a strong enough output on the compressor to be worth while of changing the hose.

Yeah... another forum I'm on all says it's the gun... time to find a decent set of air tools.
