went down to the shop today to find out how much it would cost to get the car sanded and black prime.told me the price. then ask he asked me how long i was wait till i paint it i told him like 2 month. he said if i wait that long the paint will not hold right. is this true. if not how long can you leave prep work on. thanks for help

yes and no. Your definetly not supposed to, but ive painted a car before thats had primer on it more than 2 months and the paint bonded still to this day. Also, remember... Your car will still rust even if its primed. Primer isnt meant to repel water and so on....

fuck that, i work with paint all day. don't get the body filler wet, prime over the little spots.... then the day before you paint the vehicle, give it a complete sealer spray using high build primer. do the work yourself lazy ass

Since we're all talking about paint here...
where can I get some serious bodywork done for a decent price. Insurance company said the car was totalled but I think its fixable. Please let me know whats in the area Hampton Roads area.
