Official Maintence and Repair Thread
THIS IS NOT FOR TROUBLESHOOTING. There is a separate forum for that.
Basically I was making a list of the repairs I have made in the 6 months since owning my Escape and thought this might be an interesting thread to see reliability differences in makes and what not. And just because.
Post previous repairs on your CURRENT car (I've had 20+, you don't want to see them all do you? neither do I.) And repairs that you currently or have to do.
2002 Ford Escape 3.0L
Tie rod ends
Sway bar end links
Oil Pan gasket
Battery
Alternator
Another alternator
Ignition coil on plug
Alignment and Caster
Intake manifold gaskets
Like I said, I have owned this piece of shit for 6 months and all of this has gone bad/had to be replaced. It only has 106k miles on it. The coil pack issue happened yesterday on my way home from work. Started missing at idle and sputtering under 2k rpm. 10 minutes later the CEL came on. Joy.
Already ordered the ignition coil, picking it up from advance on the way home today. Luckily it's #5 which isn't covered by the intake manifold. So it should take less than 5 minutes and cost $70.

Re: Official Maintence and Repair Thread
I'll play.
2002 Subaru WRX
I've owned it for almost a year now. Was tracked young, but still only has ~67k miles on it. This is by far the most fun car I've had, but maintenance is a pain in the ass. Since I've had it I've had to:
- Replace power steering lines
- Change clutch
- Replace tophat
- I need to change the rear differential seal
- I also need to find the vacuum leak
- Not sure if it counts but the old exhaust was too loud/big for my taste, so I replaced that also
- Replaced rotors and pads
- Changed Spark plugs and oil
- Swapped the trans fluid
- Now I need to find the possible boost leak...
Parts for Subaru's aren't as cheap as with Honda's, so this is definitely not the most cheap repairs.

1999 Mazda Miata 225K miles
Timing belt
Crank seal
Cam seals
Valve cover gasket
All fluids
This doesn't count the up grades like wheels/tires/brakes/rollbar/etc., just the maintenance items.

Re: Official Maintence and Repair Thread
I've had a 1995 Integra LS for 5 years. Here is everything I've done to it. 170k on it and I've put about 30k miles on it. I had the whole suspension off the car the night I bought it to replace all the bad ball joints and add coilovers and other goodies.
Balls joints
Tie Rods
Axles (2 times)
Every single bushing
Rotors
Pads
Clutch
Alternator belt
A/C belt
Power steering belt
Radiator hoses
Shifter shit (alot of parts were missing from the linkage when i bought it)
Tires
Fluids
Spark plugs
Spark plug wires (three times)
Distributor cap
Battery
Alternator
Starter
Calipers
Probably more. It needs piston rings. Way too lazy for that, and I hope to give it to my dad before I have to do it.

Re: Official Maintence and Repair Thread
1992 318 (full m3 swap)
Loud annoying noise when taking turns to fast, hitting full boost and the waste gate opening, anything 5mph over the speed limit.
Fix:
Dropped girlfriend off at Local Mall.

1998 Honda Civic 3dr CX Hatchback, purchased from original owner at 97,130ish miles. Currently has 115,5xx on it.
-Oil change's
-Flushed the coolant system
-Still has it's second set of tires on the vehicle
-Air filter
-Had to weld a replacement muffler due to OEM one rusting out completely, and re-weld the exhaust due to it breaking in half.
-Lower mileage distributor
-Spark Plugs
-Plug Wires
-Distributor Cap
-Rotor Button
-Drum Shoe's
-Brake Pads
-A/C Tensioner
-Main Relay (Just soldered it)
-Need to replace my Catalytic converter
-Need to do my timing belt, water pump, tensioner
-Definitely in need of new motor mounts
-Small insignificant oil leak from around the oil pan (about .5 or less quarts every month)
-Possibly going to replace weather stripping around 3rd door on vehicle due to small leak under heavy precipitation.
Still gets 37-40mpg on a full tank, so I have no complaints. At least I don't have a power steering system to maintain

Upper control arms/tie rod-due to breaking at track
Wheel bearing
Belts
Had to reset TPMSs
Needs to exhaust. Mid pipe separated at muffler. Flex piping in Y pipe has leak(s).
New oil pan gasket
Other than that running strong
