New to VA...Couple of cop related questions
First of all, I'm from Florida where we get to do whatever the hell we want with our cars. So from reading a little bit on this forum it sounds like cops in VA are complete assholes, so with that said here's my questions:
I know radar detectors are "illegal" but how many of you guys actually use them and are there any real penalties for doing so? I figure if I'm pulled over I'll just hide the damn thing. I practically feel naked without my valentine 1...
I'm planning on bringing my 2001 Jetta up as a daily, it's lowered, has exhaust (straight through 3"),big turbo, tint, and no front plate (not required in FL). Should I be expecting harassment?
The car is keeping it's FL registration so that pretty much makes me exempt from your stupid laws, right?

1. Yes, there's penalties for pretty much everything that didn't come stock on your car.

The V1 is amazing, it's kept me out of a number of tickets.
So it doesn't matter at all that VA is not my residence and my car is registered in Florida? I suppose the one good thing I have going for me is that the Jetta is a diesel...cops don't know dick about diesels :-D
