Default New Plate Reading Technology being tested...

I instantly thought of the many people here whom have had vehicles stolen, maybe this sort of technology will make it to our area sometime...

(I believe this is generally car related -- hence General Discussion)

Pretty cool. I think recovering 7 stolen cars in 1 night is pretty good.

I don't think that is a good idea, if they put those up all over the place, they will know where you go and where you've been. I think it is an invasion of privacy.

There is no way that is invasion of privacy, becuase its just like having 4 cops in a car with laptops typing in every plate they see.

It is an invasion of privacy. It's big brother watching your every move. Just like that RF Tag National ID they want to implement.
It's not like having 4 cops typing in your plates, unless you have 4 cops on every corner doing it, they do it at the strip to limit cruising, but that is a waste since they made it only one lane and there is really no way you can cross the same place in 90 minutes on a regular weekend night if you traverse the entire length to the loop and back.
