Neon is done in 2005 so...
the last year for production of the "neon" is 2005(so i've heard)...that means that the SRT4 will also not be produced after 2005. I've heard that it will be replaced by a lancer platform with the SRT4 to be replaced by an EVO-like car, only it will be fwd and around the same price as the SRT4. Anyone else hear this?
i have my choices down to all factory turbo cars (WRX, SRT4, EVO, mazdaspeed) so should i wait to see how all this unfolds? or just buy an 03 EVO b/c the price is going to drop once the 04's come out.

There is confirmation that an 05 model year srt-4 is going to be made. Likely DCX will not stop making the SRT series lineup, as the intend to have 4,6,8,10 versions.
If the neon dies, the srt-4 will be built on another platform, and will still be called a srt-4. However, any chance that it will be on a lancer platform is getting smaller by the day. DCX has decided not to bailout mitsu, and has called it's 37% stake in the company as dormant business. In other words, DCX is not going to pursue alot of future ventures with Mitsu, thus I doubt the combined platform. So in that respect, the neon may survive.

yeah i didnt think they would change the SRT name, but rather just put it on a different platform. perhaps something to consider as an option next year for the SRT4 would be awd...that would sell like all hell.
