This should be good.. I'd love to hear your reasoning..
Get a cap if you don't want your lights to dim.. Put it close to the sub amp, not before the distribution block. The other amp doesn't need it, it's transient current draw is a lot lower, so it's better to place the cap in the best possible position for the sub amp to use it.
There shouldn't be any audible difference in your amps' performance with or without, but it will help the rest of your electrical system deal with current transients.. Most people that have amp problems and think they need a cap actually need a new or bigger alternator though, or have some sort of wiring oversight (poor ground, small pwr/gnd wires, etc)..
