mods to get a 300zx to 400rwhp?
I have a friend that just bought a 91 300zx twin turbo and he is looking to do a few mods to it. He says he would like around 400hp (im guessing he is talking rwhp). Is there anyone on here that is familiar with these cars and could steer him in the right direction?

Uh its not too hard I would imagine, JWT ecu, twin pop chargers, upgraded side mounts, 3" turbo back, fuel upgrades. I did 450RWHP but that was with Sport 500 Turbos.

Intercooler packaging and fitting better exhaust manifolds are a big problem in that car. Imagine stuffing the whole engine bay full of stuff and then slamming it shut so everything doesn't pop back out. That's the 300ZX-TT..
Making 400 RWHP with that engine isn't hard, it's fitting everything that you need to do it that becomes the problem. I love those cars but I'd never own one because I'd never want to actually work on it.

you are definately right about that, there is no room anywhere under the hood of that car. My engine bay is somewhat cluttered but his is on a whole nother level of cluttered
o ok thanks for the info, the only problem is i think he wants to keep the stock turbos. I know that if he switched them it would be real easy to get alot of power but he doesn't want to

There are bolt on upgrades for that car too, with the stock adapter fittings and everything. What's the resistance to changing the stock turbos?
