Default Mazdaspeed Protege...

Very serious about buying a 2003 ms protege. I want to mod this car, but not heavily just little things. Just a respectable mid-low 14sec car. do they respond well to mods?? Any dealerships that are preferred over others? Either on the peninsula or in nova. Thanks to anyone who has info.

Brad Alger has one. He increased the boost and it was hellacious. It beat a ZC CRX by many lengths and he had people in his car.

You're pushing the little unbuilt FS-DE to it's limits. Front mount maybe a little extra boost better exhaust is about all unless you want to totally build it.

It's the exact same motor as in my car sans the turbo components, oil cooler.

Handling; you might as well leave alone, it is beyond any car you will buy on the market today.

Ask BigHeadTed or myself any other questions.

Hell auto-x, unless you were planning on spending money, I just say leave it stock. Though, I'm biased because I've been turboed so long in my Protege and all.

I assume those would though, in perspective: BigHeadTed in his stock 2003 MSP(6.9psi) and me with a T25(slightly larger than MSP stock) non intercooled @ 4psi ran pretty much dead even.

We haven't run with my car running correctly, intercooled w/ upped boost.

But if it were my car, it would be, front mount, AWR motor mounts, boost controller, intake, new downpipe and exhaust.

www.msprotege.com is a good source to ask questions.

after you learn how to ignore all the CRAP that gets posted on that forum, of course.
