Default Max Mileage

May be a dumb question but may as well ask it. Can anyone tell me roughly the max amount of miles I can get on each of these cars before needing a rebuild of the engine? Thanks in advance!

Eclipse(GS, RS, GST) 94+

3000GT 91+

Prelude 92+

Thanks.

Have looked and haven't been able to find anything if you have a link to a site or anything that would be great. Thanks.

it is very relative to maintence/upkeep etc. The first two are easy, they are mitsubishis so every 10k miles it will need an engine or transmission or both

The look, the h23's and f23's (i think thats what they are) are probably good up to 200k with proper maintence/care, i've heard the h22's aren't quite as reliable.

This is WAY too broad of a question and I know from experience that you won't get any helpful info here. It depends on a huge number of different factors. Why don't you get a little more specific and let us know why you're asking.

Meh sorry definately too broad but I'm looking to buy a used car have a couple picked out from those three listed and am trying to buy something with less then 100k miles but was just wondering what kind of mileage I could be looking at before I needed to do a total rebuild. If one of them has a lot more before needing to be rebuilt I was gonna look into something over 100K.

There's no good way to tell. You'll never know the true history behind the cars you're looking at. Obviously a Honda is usually going to be more reliable than a Mitsu, but depending on how the owners treated them, it could be the other way around.

I say go into it with the mentality that they may have been beat on and be prepared to do some work to keep them up. That way, you're ready if something bad does happen.

With that said, You can replace the entire drivetrain in a Honda for about the same price as value sizing your #6 at Chick-fil-A.
