Maintenance: AP1 s2000 vs Audi S4
My friend is in the market for an AP1. He needs to know the cost of maintenance and insurance for the S2000 v his 2000 S4. I know his insurance will go up, he's young, going from a 4dr AWD European safety machine to a Japanese RWD sports car.
I really don't feel insurance is very much on mine.
Every 3k mi, Oil $30-50 Filter $14
Every 15k mi, I take it in for servicing at Honda $250
Every 10-25k mi (depending on the driver), tires $500-1000
I think you can get away with spending less than $1,500 on maintenance if you only drive it 15k mi. He has a similar driving style to me, soft most of the time, but spirited on a regular basis. I follow Honda's intense schedule and feel like the car runs brilliantly.
How much would he save compared to his S4?

I don't know how many miles he has on his S4 but he could very well be coming up on enough maintenance to pay for an AP1.
And I doubt insurance would change much.

No kidding I have owned 2 Audis and maintenance was rediculous. Its safe to say I'll never buy another german car.

Three of my friends are trying to get S2000s soon.
I haven't decided if this is a good thing or a bad, but I kind of like the idea so far.
