IMO t-tops lose their appeal very quickly. As already stated, a hardtop is more rigid, looks better and won't leak on you.

I've had 3 Camaro's all with t tops. I've never had any issues with my tops leaking and I've had the car almost 4 years now. The only one that I had issues with was my 1982 Z, granted the car was 15 years old at the time...

ive never had a problem with the t-tops on either of my camaros. i had a 97 z28 and now have a 99 ss. really dont use the t-tops that much, but its nice when i do. i guess its just a preference thing. if he wants them, he will regret no getting them.

I am not sure how much more rigid they are since all of the 4th gens are "t-top" cars from the get go. Only difference is that the hard top cars keep that thin sheet of composite on the roof, and it's pretty flimsy.

Which in turn makes it easy to convert it over to t-top I assume..

i recall something about a 99 SS LS1s being best bang for the buck on SCC. Something was designed better for tuners and the ECU under powered it leading ppl to think it was a weaker motor.

No. The best bang for the buck was most likely a base model z28 with no options.

The motors were underrated from GM.

the 99 ls1 can be converted to make just as much power as an 02 ls1 by re changing the intake setup. it's a measily couple of horsepower.

and like i said i was messing around, not to mention i didn't know who he was at the time.
