Quick question, will lowering my car effect my insurance?

I'm pretty sure nothing you do outside of affecting the safety or structural integrity of your car will affect your insurance. I do know that with some insurance companies, if you add a roll cage, you will have to insure it as a track car. I do suggest any major mods you do(expensive wheels, suspension, other parts), you have them added to your insurance. Cobra4B could explain how that works as he used to work for an insurance company.

IF you tell your insurance company that you lowered the car then you're a tool

Don't think it should affect your insurance.

But... the owners manual on my NSX did specifically say that altering the suspension by lowering the ride height may cause the airbag to suddenly deploy.

So Dave22 & I did a 3" drop and put it on the ground!

Would have been kind of amusing to explain to the insurance company & police that you wrecked because you hit a pothole and the airbag deployed.

I didn't tell them. Just my mum is paranoid, so she's bitching about finding out with the insurance company before I do anything to my car!

Just call your insurance company (800 number, not your local rep) and ask for an agent. Don't get them any information on your account, just give them a quick scenario.

Pretty simple stuff...
