It's the synchros job to aid in going into gear & keeping in gear. I would think you have some worn syncros which may be intensified by the lighter flywheel which will slow faster when letting off the gas between shifts due to less mass. I have an 8 lb with the stock new clutch works great.

Yep, sounds like it. The flywheel isn't doing anything except making the engine accelerate faster. A loose shift linkage can also cause problems if the linkage is moving around a lot when the engine moves around on its mounts. But, generally the only thing that can make the engine pop out of gear with that little extra force is worn synchros.
