Legit State Inspection Question
Not tryin to get around State Inspection, but tryin to plan my finances...
Will I pass State Inspection with a cracked, but functional, foglight?
I really don't wanna fork out the 200 bucks for a replacement...

Re: Legit State Inspection Question
Looks like a rock hit the mofo.. spider crack that looks like it's gone all the way through but no gouge or chip missing. It's been there for 2 months or so now and I'm just now noticin. THing works fine and isn't noticable turned on.
Sad thing is last year the other one got cracked by the landscaping crew kickin up rocks and they paid for the damage and I got it replaced free... it was a pain to replace too (stupid oem housings...)

Re: Legit State Inspection Question
I don't know. I don't think that foglights are required equipment in VA, so they might not have to check those out when your car gets inspected. Best thing to do is to try and find the code for VA on that or just call up an inspection station and see what they say. I'll see if I can find some info on that.
Okay. According to this website, they'll inspect your fog lights since you have them. Whether or not they'll pass, I don't know. Maybe if they were pitted or a small fracture/hairline crack they'd probably pass. But if there's a huge crack, you're probably SOL.

No, If you have a crack in it that will "emit white light" it won't pass. But some inspection stations are dickheads and any light that is on the vehicle has to be in working order or in good condition. I suggest taking 10-15 minutes to remove them for inspection and put them back in when you get home.
