Learn from my mistake... the Panoz fell off the trailer today!
Got very lucky... no damage to the car. I was accelerating away from a light and got to abou 30 mph when somehow my front straps came undone and the car rolled backwards and off! The tongue went up and the back of the truck got very light. Thankfully my equalizer hitch kept everything in line. One of the back straps held on and kept the car from going all the way off the trailer.
I guess I just didn't tighten my straps enough and the slight rocking back/forth (Panoz has no parking brake, towing in neutral) allowed the front hooks to come loose from the wheel straps I loop around the front frame section.
A couple of cops came up behind me to divert traffic and put out flares. Amazingly they had a floor jack. I was able to jack up the rear of the car, pull out my trailer ramps, put the car down on them and drive back up on the trailer.
Moral of the story... make your straps super f'n tight or better yet get straps with clip ends on them so this cannot happen. No damage to the car

Shit happened like this to my friends boat kinda. He had the hitch on though with it locked. Some how it still managed to come un done. All i see is his boat going to the right off the road. luckily i was behind him to divert traffic till we got it back up. You never think shit will happen..

After I got it home it began to sink in how darned lucky I was today... if the car had come all the way off the trailer it'd surly have damaged the front end/suspension. If I'd been on the highway or in the tunnel it'd have been downright horrible.

^ You never want to traler in gear. Transmissions are splash lubricated, when you're not moving the oil isn't getting spread around. When you have the trans in gear you have two gear faces touching w/o any fluid being moved around.
