Decided to go ahead and do a build thread since I've gotten far enough along I can update it weekly.
Few months ago a bud asked me if I want a shell... what he really wanted was me to haul junk off of his property.
He got cancer and scrapped his drag car and parted it out. This hulk of shit is what I picked up...

I was originally going to just remove a few things and scrap it. But my neighbor convinced me to use it as a demo car if you will for our business. We decided to go ahead and fab a cage up for it and go all out so people could see first hand what kind of work we did. I decided in a lemons style cage due to its complexity and I already was minus all the interior.

I'll have to look ok my old phone and find the fab instal pics of the cage going in.

First thing I did was decide to attempt to piece the body back together.
I found a hit very hard in the rear Firebird and acquired fenders

Looks decent body was super straight. Again my neighbor convinces me it need to be the same color and look presentable for shows and events to really draw attention and help us sell fab work. Okay you right bruh let's paint it.
Found a smokin deal on a ram air hood
Sanded down rough spots for paint

So we begun. Stripped all the old shit inside down to bare metal.
Every wire every nut, bolt, sound deadening, all the panels.
Fire sale everything must go. I'll find the pics of it going in when I get a chance. But it was a fuck ton of work.
Went ahead and stripped door panels down to shell
Gutted the hatch
Removed dash.
Painted floor silver to match
And welded in the entire 16pt cage.
So it's done now right mission accomplished? Nah son. Let my brother borrow my trailer and it gets fucked off.
I'm a couple grand deep in the car now and can't move it anymore. So I decide to throw a stock Ls1/T56 back in it to drive it to events and shows. Nothing fast or crazy just a stock powerplant to move it.

Gets raped by everything in sight because Texas. So I get the wild idea to build a nasty roll race car out of it because why not?
So I removed the LS1/T56 combo. Sell it on CL stage 6.0L iron Gen3
Decide on a big single turbo. I bought everything for forged bottom end and all nice shit.

Fabbed a better way to induct air and not have it heat soak.

I then gutted the license plate cut away and fog lights to feed this.
Installed with TA bumper traded my fresh painted one for this one so the fog lights blend better than cutting giant holes in it.

The paint isn't all that great anyway. It was a hack job but it was cheap. I'm trying to decide if I will wrap it or spring for a good paint job.
I'm still looking for the other fab photos of the induction, cage, hatch, and roof. I didn't do the roof a buddy did but he sent me a few it's carbon fiber though nothing special.
Glass windshield is gone and now has lexan. I've cut and welded mini tubs up I just need to weld them into the car. Currently welding up a 9" shortened for the F body platform. Didn't have QuickPerformance money so I snagged a posi unit from a 69 Mach1 for $200.
Kirkley seat it's bolted in I need to do rails for it as it's too far away.
4L80 is built but I've got to make a cross member and stiffener brackets to tie into Subframes. Currently still working 6 day weeks though so not much time to fuck with it.

Need 12pt sockets for 1/2" and a ring filer then it will be assembled. Just picket up a busted up aluminum 5.3L for test fitting.

Great thread so far. What CC did you get on your pistons? Y'all have a plentiful supply of e-85 round your way?
