Insurance companies hate the srt-4?
i've been considering getting rid of my neon lately, so i went on geico.com to do some free quotes. i entered all of my information on the cars i've been looking at and this is what it came up with based on 3 moving violations.
1993 Toyota Supra liftback(includes twin turbo) - 6 months-1036$
2002 Pontiac TransAm 2 door coupe- 6 months-1447.35$
1998 Chevrolet Corvette- 6 months-1158$
My current car-2004 Dodge Neon SRT-4 6 months-1500$
does this sound right?? is it safe to say that the pattern would be similar with my insurance company? i understand that the srt4 has horrible crash test ratings and have a higher accident rate than most cars, but to say that a corvette would be much cheaper.......i wasn't expecting this. yet another reason to possibly move on towards a different car.

I really wouldn't be surprised. A lot of spoiled and irresponsible kids are getting SRT-4s. They're cheap, and powerful. They race, they get caught, or they wreck. It makes insurance go up.

The answer is easy.
Read the Road Kill forum more often.
There are 10 SRT-4 threads for everyone Corvette thread... and Corvettes outnumber SRT-4's heavily.

Its because of the cars reputation. Search for an MR2 Turbo, it will be about the same price.

I know what you are talking about, I had a corvette and the insurance was cheap compared to what I pay for my jeep grand cherokee, yet the insurance on my acura is dirt cheap.

It's the age of the drivers. Average age of a Vette driver is probably in the mid to upper 30's while the SRT-4 is probably 20.
I am paying about $420/6 months on my Formula, full coverage for $8500 with $0 deductables.
