Im currently looking to buy a e46 Bmw
 

Ive finally decide that its time i get in the car game since I've grown tired of my truck. Ive been thinking about what i want to purchase once i have the rest of my money and I've decided that i want to get a 3 series e46. Ive grown up living with a used car manager as a dad so i know the general things to look for when purchasing a car but i was wondering if there are any special things to take into consideration when buying a BMW

I had a 2002 325i for several years, loved it!

make sure the window regulators work (you will be replacing them at some point)
make sure the shock towers aren't mushroomed or crakced
take it to a mechanic you trust to look it over thoroughly
have an extra $2k set aside at all times to take care of surprises
you will be replacing the AC system reastat (sp) at some point

Everything niburu said and if you're budget allows it. I've started seeing some good deals around the greensboro Winston Salem areas on 02 03 m3's with some miles but are clean and I had a 03 and they are a lot of bang for the buck stock!
