If you PCS to Europe with a car...
**Cliff Notes @ bottom**
My car must be registered "Track Use Only". I have a hookup in East Germany to pass my car through, however in order for the car to do so it must be German registered first which requires passing VPC's initial station inspection. How it'd go:
1.) Breakdown back to stock (impossible)
2.) Pass VPC station inspect
3.) Pass TUV, etc.
4.) German registrate
5.) Then East Germany
Cost would range $5k-$7k to return to stock, and several months wrench time (not allowed at German homes; shop only). Doing this mainly would allow me to drive it to the tracks and run, but, Nurburgring as some locals have told me require German registrate cars to run "public open lap" days. Other than that, I have to enter under "club days" or "race days" with my car. Those last two things I'm trying to read into more.
Read, read, read, and make the phone calls over here prior PCS/VPC appointment as early as possible. My mistake was not making the direct contact with my gaining base's inspect/register station. If I'd known I would've left my car home instead of bouncing it all over the world. I don't necessarily need the street-legality to track the car, but for it to set foot on a road it must. Otherwise, I'm now looking into means of truck & trailer rentals. Regardless and in the end, it probably saved me from being caught breaking an international law as a service member: evading taxes on a modded, German registrate vehicle. Typically you pay $200+ per mod from what a Euro Supra Forums member has said.
Cliffs:
-Car must be "Track use only"
-Nurburgring racing is up in the air
-Wrenching at home is prohibited
-Call the transport, inspect station, and/or both at gaining station prior to VPC appointment of departure
It sounds strict. Germany is VERY strict, Polizei don't seem leniant, and fines are huge. This is what VPC and inspect station has informed me as of today.

Horray for European socialism.... and this is what some of you want here in America? Look at all the bullshit reguations he has to go through. You can't turn a wrench at your own home.... only at a shop kind of thing.... FUCK THAT!
This is what happens when the government has too much control..... sports cars aren't important and they just don't care... so they tax/fine modding and have overzealous restrictions and rules/regs.
Have fun with all that bullshit.

So why is your car not legal?
I'm not understanding why your having all these issues. I know a few guys who have supercharged stangs over there just fine. Please let me know.

Emissions, I have none. Exhaust, may possibly be over 95 decibels and has no cat. Suspension, is altered. Big Brake Kit, may not have the certs required by country. Dusty @ MVP cautioned me on BBK's; said Brembo has ALL certs. Tires, are not all-weather. Boost gauge, by Polizei discretion may be considered a viewing obstruction. PS, has a small leak... their environmental standards are insanely enforced and a leak of ANY fluids will fail you.

Re: If you PCS to Europe with a car...
On top of it, until my "track car" is paid off I'm paying premium 5x higher than my last base. And, I don't see USAA giving me a check if I wreck at the ring or a dragstrip.
You'll have to check for that as well before PCS'ing. Highly recommend. $60/mo I was paying, and never expected to see a rate higher than $150 anywhere... $300/mo is my new policy.
