Question I Need A/C...but have R12. Full cnvsion kit from Advance worth it?

Hell o fellows,
Its humid as a bitch and the A/C fairy will visit me tomorrow.

I see those conversion kits in advance and i'm considering gettgin it.
http://www.id-usa.com/product_landing_ac.asp

I can buy a new drier O-rings for my car and do a proper conversion but that will cost about the same as fillling it back up with R-12.

I saw this kit in teh store and it made me think..

or

RKR-7

Complete kit to retrofit (convert) an R-12 A/C system to R-134a or to recharge an existing R-134a system. No tools needed. Refrigerant contains anitwear additives for high mileage vehicles and system-safe leak sealer.

Works 2 Ways:

* Converts an R-12 A/C to R-134a
* Charges and existing R134a system with correctly proportioned high mileage refrigerant & oil charge cans

Includes:

* "How To" CD
* Metal can tap valve & fittings
* Charging hose with color coded in line pressure gauge with high impact nylon Quick Connect. Charges and measures in one step for accurate charging of an R-134a air conditioner.
* 3 service port adapters with protective caps for all cars 1976 and up, including special GM Systems 1991 and up.
* Retrofit label
* 3 can of 15 oz. High Mileage Refrigerant & Oil (12 oz. of Refrigerant and 3 oz of Ester Lubricant per can with High Mileage Anit-Wear Additives and "System Safe" Leak Sealer for all rubber leaks

Arlo, it's Cory, swing by the shop sometime, and we can do it. you don't have to change all the o-rings. just change the 2 schrader valves, put on the 2 new fittings, and fill it with 85% of R134a. so if you system requires 2 lbs of R-12 (32 oz), you put in 27 oz of R134a. and you're done.

http://autorefrigerants.com/co00033.htm

no need to convert anything, did it to my DA years ago. But since removed the a/c system.

Quick-kit with R12 tap/chargehose and Dyecharge/Refrig. combo (instead of 134a tap/chargehose and conversion fittings): Order here $39.95 ($4.00 shipping). ( comes with 3 cans of ES-12a dyecharge product and a custom R12 tap/chargehose for installing dyecharge directly into existing R-12 service fittings). R12 chargehose fits oil-charge, stopleak and all other Enviro products.
