Default Honda Pilot... Perfect Vehicle

So we just drove from Seattle to Hertford NC in out '06 Honda Pilot. I had myself and Brooke in the front along with an iPod FM Txer, a GPS, and a DVD player. Skyler was in the middle of the back seat in her Recaro car seat (big for a car seat) and not much else. In the back we had 3 full size suit cases, a "Cuddler" Plush seat (http://www.plushcomfort.com/inc/sdetail/46), a Bicycle, two carry-on bags, a toiletries bag, a camera bag, an Oakley laptop bag, some purses, and a whole hell of a lot of cups, bottle, cans of homemade salsa, toys for Skyler and a ton of other things. Both front seats could still fully recline and my view out the back wasn't obstructed at all. We had room for 2 more people if we wanted.

The greatest thing??? In Montana at 90mph we got about 22 mpg. From North Dakota through Penn we drove around 70-75mph and got 26 mpg. On the last two legs of the trip we were driving about 60-65 and got (I shit you not) 28.4 mpg.

Oh yeah, we're home!

Perfect vehicle would run on hopes and dreams, not gas at almost $4/gallon. Nice mpg nonetheless for a decent size suv with room.

It's not an SUV, it's a station wagon that pretends it's an SUV. No surprise at the mileage. Glad you like it!

it's quicker than you'd think. I've had run-ins with some other vehicles in it's class and usually come out on top. It's ride and handling are tops in it's class too.

i'm not talking about speed.

towing is a nice thing to have in an SUV. you dont buy a honda if you want to pull anything.

Colt45 will become famous soon enough
Default Re: Honda Pilot... Perfect Vehicle

wow, I consider the pilot far from perfect. I've driven my buddies 05 pilot from nova to atlantic city a lot of times and it gets uncomfortable after about 45 minutes of driving and the 3rd row is only for kids. It does have decent acceleration though, but its not fun or comfy to drive long distances. We use a comfortable camry now if we don't go with a big group of people.
