Help Sr20det
ok finished my swap but the damn thing wont start. i guess my timing is way off or something. i dont have a garage to work on my car anymore and i need to tow my car to a good place to get it running. however, time is of the essence and so is money. autosolutions said theyd get it running but the soonest they can look at it is the end of the week. and custom car care said not till next week. where can i take my 240?!?!?!? PLEASE help. i have money to pay for service but i want to try to avoid paying 650 at autosolutions. thanks

he did, but he couldnt answer my questions.
tiki i need you to describe your problem further. do you hear clicks, spinning of the gear....i need more info to help out.
what happens when you turn the key? what do you hear?
also did you check that plug on the side of the alternator we spoke about? was it plugged in?

ahhhhhh good. then its not a starter that you need like in your message you sent me.
have you pulled the CAS out at all during your time with the motor? (this is very important that you answer NO)
take a plug out and lay the coil pack and plug on part of the car(to ground the spark plug) and try to crank the car. have someone watch for the plug to spark. if it sparks.......but doesnt fire, your timing is way off. timing is controlled by the CAS. if you pulled out the CAS or someone else did, you have to get that realligned.

i have never removed the CAS, and we took out a coilpack on cyl. number 1 and got a spark. whats the difference between a spark and a fire? greaser... id be happy to compensate you for your time if you came up and helped me get my car operational for NOPI. thanks

yes i have lunch hour while i'm at work......
i cant come out and help, i dont have the time.
sparking means that you have power to the CAS and that it is sensing that the motor is turning. no fire means no combustion. no combustion means either that the spark hits at the wrong time of the cycle (timing is way off) or that no air is gettinginto the motor.
reasons for no air into the motor.....broken rocker arms so valves dont open
other reasons for no combustion is no cylinder pressure for fuel to be compressed into a more violent combustion. no pressure means ring lands failed or hole in a piston. or burnt valve allowing all the air to go by the vavle.
do a compression test. report the results. take the fuel rail off the motor and see if fuel is being sprayed during cranking.
