Help my life! Getting rid of my tib for a 5.0 mustang?
I am a sophmore in college (VCU), almost 20. I have a 2003 Hyundai Tiburon GT 2.7 with a 5 speed. Has 110xxx miles on it. Its lightly modded(full exhaust, intake, ngk tune-up, cosmetic stuff, sound system). I know for a fact i can get 6 grand for it. I love the car, but i still owe 3 grand on it, was planning on finishing the payments by working my ass off this summer. I like modifying cars but dont see much potential in this car, and i hate that its a front wheel drive car. Long story short, i now have a restricted license that only allows me to drive to work until september, which during summer my work is a 2 minute car drive away
My current plan is to sell it, and pick up a 87-93 mustang 5.0, preferably a notchback. My goal with this is to have a car to work on during summer so i dont kill myself with boredom and i wont be a slave to paying off a car i cant even drive. If it is not drivable i can ride my bike to work or borrow my parents car or something. As far as money goes...
+6000 for selling the car
-1000 for good rolling chassis with good interior
-1500 bodywork/paint
-$? for a/c, i sweat like a bitch
-$2000-3000 for engine/t5 setup that is good to go
My plan so far is to spend less that 6 grand on making the car presentable and decently reliable. I would love to run a supercharger on the engine in the future. The car at the end of summer should be faster than my tiburon. The reason I have chosen a 5.0 is because they meet my budget and also inexpensive to work on, and i like how they look (certain ones)
This sound like a decent plan? I would also love help from someone who has/knows stuff about these mustangs. I am personally not a ford guy, my car before the tiburon was an 86 iroc camaro. P.S. I work for Advance Auto Parts so i can get stuff for cheap!
Any and all help will be greatly appreciated!!

Good choice getting rid of the tiburon, you're right, not much potential.
Mustangs can be made very fast very cheaply. It sounds like you already know what you want, and how to get it.
Now go find yourself a musturd.

Smart move, damn the tibi. Search ur local craiglist for mustangs. I see alot in there from week to week, even in your price range. Good Luck
