Re: help with intake for vw
OEM and put the money towards a chip or turbo back exhaust
|
Re: help with intake for vw
im not gonna chip it due to warranty issues, and exhaust i really dont want to do that yet either, i really just want a intake for a little more turbo sound.

Re: help with intake for vw
any idea if that would void any warranty. what does the dv do, will it add any power or just noise?
|
Re: help with intake for vw
An air intake could void your warrenty just as easily as a chip and is a hell of a lot easier for a tech to see. What dealer do you go to? Casey? I know they will raise an eyebrow to an intake.

Re: help with intake for vw
carbonio
evolution motorsports those seem to be the most popular right now. the carbonio doesn't require any cutting of the engine cover, but the evo ms one does. neuspeed also has one out. |

Re: help with intake for vw
i got a fast also. pretty popular vw thing, the one thing i like about drivin a vw is everyone is cool and waves, honda people think they are better than one another andhave things to prove, but as for the intake thing im probably going to look into a dv, gonna talk to a warranty specialist soon about it

Re: help with intake for vw
The evo ms intake is on back order until....forever is what it seems like.If you just after sound then get the neuspeed p flo intake. Its pretty cheap compared to the others and its instock everywhere I looked. An intake will definately give you that turbo sound your looking for though.

It's to show off, right? If you are so worried about your warranty, you shouldn't touch your car with aftermarket accessories unless they are labeled VW and installed at a VW dealership. An intake will definitely be looked at as a 'no-no' by most VW dealers here. They will definitely void your warranty if you have any issues with your MAF or O2 sensors (fairly common VW problem). Yeah, I know... how does an intake affect an O2 sensor??? They'll find a way to not cover something under warranty. |

Re: help with intake for vw
Yeah, I just had my O2 sensor go in my mom's expedition and the dealer gave me shit about my K&N intake.

Re: help with intake for vw
