Default Help a Domestic guy out

I know a lot about Domestic motors especially Chevy ones but when it comes to import motors I have no clue. I hear all these numbers like b16, b18, h22a, and such but I have no idea what they mean. Anyone want to give me a rundown of all the common import motors?? Thanks.

Im more of a dumbmestic fan myself but here is a few honda basics.

DOHC Vtec are the ones to get, the H and B series motors, the D series is single overhead cams.

B= dual overhead cams. Whatever number follows designates the displacement. For example, B16 = dual overhead cam engine 1.6 liters.

Im sure people will chime in with far more detail.

Since when did import mean Honda?

SR20DE - Nissan Silvia Q's NA engine
SR20DET - Nissan Silvia K's, 180sx Engine, turbo
KA24DE - DOHC engine in many nissans, including the 240sx, years 91-98
KA24E - SOHC engine, in the 89-90 240sx
RB20DET - Inline 6 engine in the R32 Skyline GT-S
RB25DET - Inline 6 engine in the R33-34 Skylines, I believe
RB26DET - Inline 6 engine in the Skyline GT-R
CA18DET - Nissan Silvia K's and 180sx engine, 89-90
CA18DE - Nissan Silvia Q's engine, 89-90

There, all the nissan engine I remember at the present time, lol. To read the engine code -

first 2 letters = engine series (i.e., SR engine, RB engines, etc
numbers indicate displacement (i.e., SR20 - 2.0 liters)
last letters indicate a couple things -

D= dual overhead cam
E= electronic fuel injection I believe
T= turbo

I know some about Nissans, anyone want to do this for anyother car make?
