Re: help
the gen 2 eclipses have a problem with crank walk after about 80k miles could be more could be less depending on how the driver treats the car. I reccomend a honda they are reliable as anything and with proper maintenance they will run almost indefinatly

Re: help
If you ask a honda guy they are going to tell you to get a honda. If you ask a mitsubishi guy they will tell you to get a mitsubishi. My thoughts.. get a mitsubishi. I have a 95 talon with just a shade under 100k miles and the only motor problem I have had is the turbo went out on me. It's never seen crankwalk. Plus if you do perform crankwalk then you can always buy a 1g 4g63 6 bolt block, which has about a 98% chance of performing crankwalk.
Not to mention my integra I have already had the motor rebuilt, and it has given me more problems then any of the cars I have ever owned.

Re: help
I've owned both
I've had everything from a turbo SOHC, Turbo GSR and a all motor ITR.
Hondas are very reliable cars.
My latest is a Mitsu GSX. and it's been pretty reliable.
As far as crankwalk on the 2nd Gens, it happens but as far as how frequently....who knows. Probably a less than 50/50 chance. Like someone above already mentioned. If it happens, swap in a 1g motor or just a 1g shortblock and call it a day.
Hondas are great but personaly, I like my DSM now. On the streets, you can't beat the all wheel drive launch and neither can a honda You can drive right onto the track and not have to put slicks on to run a decent time.
Now if you're talking about a NA eclipse, I'd probably say go Accord. It all depends on your goals and the money you have to spend on them
