H22a in 5th Gen
I just bought a `92 Si Hatch with a JDM H22 in it. I dont know a thing about the 'H' Series motors. I have only had it a week and the water pump just went out. Everyone is telling me a few things. First, the entire motor has to come out. Two, I might as well change the timing belt and a bunch of other stuff (I have bills to pay too), what is the deal with this? I dont have a garage, so I cant do it myself. Someone just gave me a 900 dollar estimate? WTF?!?

Just give me your car !!!!!
cause it sounds to me that it's only giving you headaches.
As far as you water pump going out, first the engine does not have to come out to replace it, second it is a good rule of thumb to change your timing belt I wouln't hurt any it might even be better in the long run, your best bet go to a Honda dealer buy the parts it is not that expensive, trust me I know I just did my shit about 3000 miles ago. You in the navy right? Why dont you use the car hobby shop? and it would be a lot less than $250 If you need anymore help lemme know.

I have a blown H22 motor that you can salvage parts off of if you want. The timing belt has only had about 100 miles on it water pump is the same.....
this way you can save yourself on parts at least.
