You know like maybe you put a plate too close to the edge of the table, you see it going and make one of those weird not words like uhhugh aahh and kind of dive for it but no its useless. I wonder if one of those guys did that when they saw that car going off the back of the lift.

Wow... underpan of that is impressive. However the car is far from "ruined" I'd bet it's not really that bad.
A minor fender bender transmits far more energy through a chassis than falling from a lift like that.
Figure 4000 lb car going 20 mph vs. 1700 lb car going whatever speed if reached falling off the lift.
It's not that bad... yes I'd be livid, but it's not done for.
