Default good detailing supplies?

before getting my truck repainted i think im gonna try to buff it. and if it doesnt turn out how i want it, ill prolly get it painted. my question is, does anyone know of any good compounds, cutters, etc that i can pick up locally? i dont know if i should get some from advance, walmart, auto zone, etc, or of there is some kind of paint shop or something i would be better off going to. any input??? thanks!

Not local but they ship fast..it where I get all my stuff from I just buffed out my super oxidized boat with the 357 magnum high cut and then went back over it with all 3m polishes.. it looks sweet I ordered a new cutting pad too but it was super aggressive. I went back over it with my 3m waffle pad b4 I polished it..

Junkman uses like 4 or 5 duffreent things when he does it. The price of the stuff isn't bad at all. Its the price of the actual polisher because I don't have one. I'm trying to find someone who does so I can just borrow it
