flat black paint?
 

i have seen a few cars that look like they are a flat black sort of like a primer but black. anyone have more info on this? products, process, price? thanks!

Just like painting a car regular but instead of using clear, use a flat black paint. Or you can rattle can it like a lot of retards and call it CLEAN

Actually you can make any color flat...you add flattening agent in the clear and it dulls down the shine and still protects it

You can also get specific flat clear that does not cause the chalky wash on it if you go too heavy.

Flattener is hard to get just right, you gotta know yer shit. Most of teh blacks you see are considered a satin black, you can get it by the gallon at any good auto paint store. You can also use K36 tinted whatever color you want, but at 300+/gal most people do not use the stuff. Hell most body shops won't even use a heavy build primer/surfacer that costs this much.

If you use primer it will absorb moisture, and the panels will still rust in time.

I have three in the shop now getting varying colors of flat paints, thankfully only one is being black. Satin red FTMFW.

you can get a matte black vinyl wrap too. looks good and if you get tired of it, it comes right off.
