I've had this bike in my storage for some time now and finally decided to pull it out and start messing wiht it but i didnt want to do anything yet without a title. I stopped by the DMV to apply(?) for one and was told i need to bring in a registration or get hte previous owner to provide one. If that guy doesn't have one to try ging down the chain of owners until i find someone with one. I got the bike off craigslist in the free section a few years ago and dont have any contact info form the person i got it off of. My question is: without a title already or registration, how can i get one for this thing? I know theres a way to apply for a lost title or something but without registration how do i go about doing this?

Have you had the vin ran on it? If it comes back stolen then you could be sol....I can get a title for it..the bike has to be in my possession and at my shop...when they are processed dmv and I send letters out to the owner and lienholder if it has one....if either party wants to pay the storage I have to realease it to them....since as far as dmv is concerned they own it....if you want to know more call me at 7578703103

+1. Other way to do it is to buy a titled frame and switch everything over.
